Solanne Bernard and Marc-Aurèle Debut have collaborated at Plop Artist Residency in London as a duo, developing the beginnings of a larger shared body of work that brings individual practices into dialogue with newly created collaborative pieces.
Their research has been centered around the changing room as a site of transformation and mutation of objects to bodies, exploring moments of exposure, transition, and material negotiation - a space where the body exists in its most raw and vulnerable state.
This collaboration delves deep into the inherent hybridity of bodies as a form of resistance, encouraging new types of subjectivities to form. Feeding the Folds is an ode to fluidity, where eroticizing our surroundings creates deeper connections to the world, where bodies are hybrid fluid beings and objects can grow themselves a beating heart.
